Hello, all!

After years of thought, I've decided I will be using this page for my jewelry from now on. I will no longer be uploading drawn art to this page, but I won't be wiping my entire gallery and I will still be active on here.

Many thanks to all the lovely loves who've supported this page throughout the years.

Much love and more soon!

✖RULES✖
• The first 20 people comment this journal, I will put their avatar
and the three deviations I like most from their gallery on the list!
• If you comment, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger on the first place.
The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!

Hello, all!

Following a recent commission spree (not all of them were posted to DevArt), I've adjusted my prices slightly in regards to adding characters to the pic. I've realized asking for an additional three bucks per extra character just doesn't make sense, so now all the prices are adjusted as per character. I'm still making very little money on my work (see the breakdown of a priced commission at the end of the journal), but I love my DevArt peeps that much, so enjoy the low pricing while it lasts!

Commission Slots:

In light of the fact that I am starting classes at the end of the month, I've also decided to implement commission slots, so that I don't risk having too big a workload and having to turn  people down or having them wait too long.
I will have five commission slots at a time, so that I can ensure quality work and reasonable wait times for my lovely commissioners.  Commissioners will be listed in a "Commissioner Features" journal, with three works of their choice from their gallery thumbed in the journal next to their icon. I'd like to give them a little extra 'thank you' in the form of exposure while they wait. The feature will last for either one week or until I have finished their commission, whichever time is longest.

Process:

:bulletgreen: Note me what you'd like done, complete with description and any desired references.
:bulletgreen: Once I know what you want and have accepted the job, you can send half of the total payment through PayPal and I'll send you images along the way (initial sketches, inks, flat colors, etc) so that you can request any changes before the next stage of the drawing is completed. I follow these methods to make sure that you feel safe about getting what you paid for, and I feel safe about getting the money I have worked for. Win-win!
:bulletgreen: Once completed, I'll ask you to send the remaining payment through PayPal, and once that's been received, I will post your pic to DevArt (if you're okay with that) and also send you the high-quality file via email or note.

Pricing:

:bulletgreen:$5 per character for digital or traditional sketch/pencil work
(Something along these lines: Epic Wizard Scene Pencils by EPBJewelry or Sascha Pencils by EPBJewelry)

:bulletgreen:$8 per character for digital clean lineart/traditional inked work
(Such as Acillus LineWork by EPBJewelry)

:bulletgreen:$12 per character for flat colors
(Like Birthday Chomp by EPBJewelry)

:bulletgreen:$15 per character for cel shaded/fully shaded colors
(Like this:<da:thumb id="389459071"/> or this:
Long Haired Christmas by EPBJewelry)

Adding backgrounds:

Backgrounds are not included in the above prices. The prices may also have additional charges depending on detail. I can't do an entire city war zone for five bucks, for example. A room or simple landscape/location/design, great! Unless particularly complex (like a city war zone made entirely of Celtic knots with banshees and space ships flying around), the additional charge should only be somewhere between $5-$10.

:bulletgreen: +$5 for simple pencil background
:bulletgreen: total of +$8 for simple, inked background
:bulletgreen: total of +$11 for simple, flat colored background
:bulletgreen: total of +$15 for simple, fully colored and shaded background

Example Breakdown of Priced Commission:

This piece had a total cost of $71.
($15 x 4 cel shaded characters) $60 + (flat colored background) $11 =$71

With all the elements in the picture and that go into making a picture (finding accurate references for the characters, working out a good composition, sketching, inking, color picking and layout, shading and color finishing, final touches), the piece took about 30 hours spread over a little less than a week.  With PayPal taking a percentage of each transaction, I made less than $2 an hour. However, for now I've decided to keep my prices as low as possible so that people can afford them. Artists and the people who want art are pretty often equally broke, lol. So, I hope you see these prices as fair for the amount of work going into each piece!

So!
I hope I've made everything as clear as possible! Talk to me and tell me your thoughts, ask any questions, make any complaints. I love hearing from people, it lets me know the zombie outbreak hasn't spread too far.
Much love! :peace:

:icongrin--plz:COMMISSIONS OPEN!! rosykunoichi.deviantart.com/jo… :icongrin--plz:

Hi, people!! How is everyone? ...Is anyone even still here?

Sorry for yet another absence, but I've got good reasons this time, I swear ;P In the past few months, I quit my job of four years, hopped on my first plane flight and moved up north in the dead of winter for my first trip out of Florida ever. I've also decided to go to college for fine art (though I am still in the process of choosing where to go).

It's been crazy, it's been scary, it's been freezing... But I've been happy :aww: Especially since there are no more night shifts in my future (much as I loved my job... yeesh, those hours do a number on you).

I've missed being on DevArt and drawing for my friends here more than anything! If I owe anyone anything, fire off a comment so I'll know :) I do plan on being more active now, and I have a few pieces in the works already, but I enjoy drawing the most when it's for my stories or my friends, so feel free to ask for an art trade (or a commission; I will give you a discount if you're one of my loyal watchers! Lol). A friend of mine also suggested I start up a webcomic, so... I'll put up a poll about that.

Much love!
Rosy :peace:

I'm sure you all know about the Mini-DD awards going on, if not, check here: news.deviantart.com/article/40… :D

I decided to feature a few of my favorites, not just for entering the votes, but because what could be a better first journal of the year than one that celebrates the art of last year?
I love art, and I'd like to say that I watch quite a few people considering I've only been here about a year. Closing in on watching 900 people already ^^; But each person I watch is worth it, whether it was because of their character, their art, or both! I did a lot of :+fav:ing and about as much :+devwatch:ing just from that news article, so why not throw some appreciation to boot? Onward with my personal faves from the features! It was tough just to narrow down to this much, I can only imagine what the people who have to chose DDs go through ;P
francis001.deviantart.com/art/… Ganesh, by francis001 A truly amazing piece I can't believe I didn't come across sooner, and a wicked representation of Ganesh. The line work shows a lot of talent, with fine details you can really see around the eyes and folds of the ears, and in the hands. The coloring is just as skilled and blends perfectly with the lines, the colors are almost monotonous but still vary beautifully. The chair is just as detailed as Ganesh, and the textures are a perfect final touch. Not to mention the little rat at the bottom is just adorable :) endling.deviantart.com/art/The… The Color of Ree, by Endling A creative and original piece by a wonderful artist, showing that his talents spread to colors and not just his amazing gray-scaling. The painting seems almost quick, but is very detailed, even without the use of outlines. The horde of demons are slightly eerie and yet cooky, and the transition from shadow to mass is very smooth. Ree has a great amount of detail, from the line of sewing and vague pockets and zipper, and the individual bits of the belt, down to her intent expression. Each demon's expression is excited and just as intent as hers. norbi.deviantart.com/art/Natur… Naturally Create, by norbi This piece says a lot, and the title is perfectly fitting. The level of detail is just amazing and the colors are beautiful. The tree's transition to color pencils seems almost natural, and it's texture perfectly resembles bark colored in by a master of the tools. The deer alone has so much detail, and the squirrel using the color pencils does, too. The whole thing is precisely detailed, down to each leaf and blade of grass. Each design swirling from the pencil tips are worth taking a good, long look at, and the piece gets major props from me for a consistent light source and just an amazingly artistic and original idea. sulphurspoon.deviantart.com/ar… Lumm Illustration digital, by Spoonfayse This piece has another great level of detail, in a style that makes this character look just like a classical depiction of a Japanese myth. The digital coloring looks just like it was sketched onto the paper along with the original lines, which are also finely detailed. The character's features were very well-chosen, the spotted skin, bloated stomach and throat, webbed, knobbly, long, thin fingers, and my favorite, the thin, wide eyes that perfectly resemble a frog's. The coloring makes the eyes bright and gives the skin a perfect, leathery texture. Props for a very original concept and a truly believable depiction. emperpep.deviantart.com/art/sm… Smokers, by emperpep The artist has taken anime style and given it a funky twist, typical of any classic painting mocking a trend of society. The painting alone tells a story at just a glance, and one I know a lot of people can relate to, myself included. The exaggerated amount of cigarettes and copious amount of smoke that seem like walls closing in on the victim perfectly portray the claustrophobic feel of being surrounded by the choking odors. I love the victim's expression and how he's still trying to work. The use of stool piles to compare the smell is pretty humorous and perhaps slightly bitter ;P Tiny details like the victim's beauty mark, the tiny little exclamation point, and the flies around the stool are worth looking for. A beautiful style and slightly abstract yet detailed colors. nuvem.deviantart.com/art/O-ara… O arauto, by nuvem A piece with a real impact to it. The way everything is put together to get one solid concept across truly makes you appreciate photomanipulation from stock as an art form. The person made of newspapers, falling apart piece by piece as it runs past the solid metropolis, yelling through the paper megaphone, is not only impressive, but a wicked definition to the term 'herald.' Staring at the piece makes you think, just like standing in a museum and staring at old abstract paintings would. js4853.deviantart.com/art/Scar… Scarecrow, by js4853 An oil on canvas painting with an amazing amount of detail- I almost mistook it for a funky photomanipulation at first! Excessively creepy and amazingly detailed, this painting deserves a very close look. The artist uses not only color, but texture as well, to differentiate between each bit of material- The wood and rope are painstakingly detailed, and I can't imagine the amount of time taken on the skin of the little creatures; even the indents under their eyes are expertly textured and shaded. A wonderfully surreal take on a scarecrow. beloved-creature.deviantart.co… Stagnant, by Snugglestab An amazingly painted piece that portrays a powerful emotion in a creative, original way. The color scheme is just the right amount of dark without over-doing it or blurring out the wonderful details or brush strokes. Mr. Sorrow's expression just tugs at your heart-strings, making you want to just give him a hug. I love how much detail is in his hands, and how even his arms resemble the twisted branches of a dead tree. The way he melds into thorny roots encasing the beautiful, shining heart really brings to mind the term 'his heart fell to his knees.' quasimanga.deviantart.com/art/… Bronco Boar, by Quasimanga This is a very fun and dynamic piece, full of plenty of little details most people would forget to include that make it seem like a real scene, such as the wrappings on the boar's tusks, to prevent the wild beast from impaling anyone. I love the level of detail and the fact that the artist took time to make a realistically-themed background, including the double-posted fence and sparse grass. The artist didn't skimp on the character designs, either, making a unique outfit and girl that perfectly blend a cowgirl attitude and a sort of Mayan influence. Her toned muscles and obviously dangerous job mixed with her make-up and calm, pleased expression certainly make her a character with a lot of flavor. The artists description adds to the piece, giving a quick story about what's going on inside the painting, and the artist's intentions for putting it together. xxtwistederebusxx.deviantart.c… Murdok, by xXTwistedErebusXx This hand-colored drawing has a great composition and wonderful, light coloring. The chameleon is very realistic; I love the skilled placement of short strokes throughout his skin to give him more depth and texture. His strange markings and the eye centered in his forehead make you wonder just what his story is. The artist did a wonderful job in coloring him, keeping a consistent light source and paying attention to his shape and each fold. The exotic flowers in the background have little details that you have to appreciate, such as wrinkles in their petals, and the artist made a great choice in making them gray-scale, as they don't distract from the chameleon, but rather serve their purpose as a backdrop that makes him stand out.

Forgive my wordings, I've got editor and commentator in my blood :XD:;;; I liked a lot more, but these are my personal favorites for who should be voted for. For those of you who haven't voted, get on over to that article and take a look! It'll be worth the visit, and there's definitely more pieces on there you're bound to like. Best of luck to the contestants!
