I have been permanently tanned by a sun burning bright/
The sun I speak of does not give off light/
This sun is not yellow, but a painful white/
My skin has been darkened no matter how hard I fight/
Also darkened was my mind/
Also darkened was my life/
Though I pretend that I am fine/
Darkness is all the sun has left behind/
Also darkened was my heart/
And on my soul I shall not start/
And still this sun plays its part/
Wanting to leave me branded pitch dark/
The sun scalds me deep with every problem, every strife/
The sun wants to take away all of my light/
The sun tells me that only IT is right/
Soon I will give in to this sun that is life.
